Reclining Giraffe…Thinking Bull…

It’s full of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops, although it was a bit on the chilly side for sitting al-fresco, and some of the bars / restaurants became more ‘touristy’ (pictures of meals on boards so less language-adventurous customers can point at what they want)…

…and at the bottom, a bull who’s apparently rather fond of Rodin…!
We’d seen the Giraffe on previous visits, but hadn’t quite placed where it was in the ‘lay of the land’ – the Bull was a pleasant surprise!
Only in Barcelona…!
The plaque reads ‘The Association of Friends of Rambla Catalunya and the city of Barcelona – 1972″ – 40 years old and still looking good!
We hadn’t planned to walk that particular route, we just happened across it when walking back to our apartment in El Born from L’Illa (an enormous shopping mall / office complex not far from Camp Nou). It’s definitely one we’ll do again though!
