Reclining Giraffe…Thinking Bull…

Rambla Catalyuna stretches from Avinguda Diagonal to Placa Catalunya and is a beautiful (almost) traffic-free walk – except for crossing the main roads that bisect it as it meanders down – none of which were a hardship to cross.  It’s full of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops, although it was a bit on the chilly side for sitting al-fresco, and some of the bars / restaurants became more ‘touristy’ (pictures of meals on boards so less language-adventurous customers can point at what they want)…

Either end has a rather wonderful bronze statue…

La Vinya del Senyor, Barcelona

One of the most wonderful wine bars we’ve ever visited and somewhere we love to go back to, time and time again…especially on an afternoon when it’s almost entirely ours…

With over 300 wines to choose from, including a selection that changes every fortnight that’s available by the glass if you don’t want a bottle, the view of the amazing Santa Maria Del Mar is the icing on the cake – or rather the foam on the top of a perfect glass of cava…

Barcelona…(two weeks and counting…)

Easter fortnight starts this coming Monday.  Then it’s just two 4-day working weeks, with a nice 4-day weekend in between them, and it’s Barcelona here we come!

Not that we’re looking forwards to it of course, or that I’ve started my packing list already…Or that I’m doing my usual panic-stricken brushing-up on my incredibly rusty Castellano
